After much consideration for the health and safety of our members and Executive, we are temporarily suspending the activities of the Spin Sisters Mountain Bike Club due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We believe that this move is in the best interest of our community and will help the public health authorities in Calgary to gain control of the spread of the virus and “flatten the curve” to make the situation more manageable. Support and social distancing is the most effective way to preserve our overall safety and ensure that we are all ready to jump on our bikes as soon as the weather cooperates.  We are very hopeful to be able to reschedule events in the near future but as of March 17, 2020 we will suspend the following activities and will endeavor to reschedule once Public Health Guidelines allow us to do so:

  • Information Nights (March 25 & April 2)
  • Ridley’s Maintenance Clinics (Intermediate Maintenance Clinic April 1)
  • Ridley’s Buying a New Bike (April 6)
  • Ridley’s Wine & Cheese Season Opener (April 7)

Rest assured, last week your Executive gathered together for the annual Swag Bag stuffing event and this year’s haul will not disappoint. You will receive Membership Cards and ABA Insurance Cards in the mail to the address you specified on your registration by the end of April. We will sort out how to distribute the Swag Bags over the next few weeks. Please check your email inbox and SS Private Facebook page for updates as this situation evolves.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding. As they say, we are all in this together. We look forward to seeing everyone out on the trails in the near future.

Laura Karl & the 2020 Spin Sister Executive
