What volunteer positions need to be filled?
Sign-On: Help set up the sign-on table, as the athletes arrive check names and give out race packages
First Aid: Volunteer should be trained in advanced first aid. Stay in the first aid room throughout the day and help any injured athletes who turn up. If someone is injured on course, travel with the CNC quad driver to treat or transport the person back to the start area. Call ambulance services if needed.
Course Set-Up: 5-6 people needed Friday afternoon to ride the course setting up tape and markings. One person needed on Saturday morning and again in the afternoon to check signage and condition.
Starting, Timing & Results: Sit at the timing tent and help with racer identification, timing, printing and posting results.
Food: Bring food from our sponsors in Calgary and help prepare and serve yummy food to hungry racers.
Prizes: Pick up prizes the week prior to the race from our sponsors around Calgary and maybe Canmore. Bring them on race day, organize and distribute for each category at the awards ceremony.
MC: A funny and entertaining person to give commentary as racers ride their laps.
Course Marshalls: You will be stationed on the course, watching racers come through and calling for help in case of injury or other emergency. This is the most entertaining volunteer job since you usually get to watch the most technical sections of the race.
