Have you ever wanted to learn to build mountain bike trails like a pro?

Do you want to show off your trail building skillz at the Spin Sisters trail day on June 1?

If so, then the Calgary Mountain Bike Alliance are holding a trail building school which will focus on how to build and maintain sustainable trails with hands-on experience working on the Fish Creek Trails. Please note that this class is available to non-Spin Sisters as well but you must be a CMBA member to attend. Memberships are only $25 and are available on-line here (http://www.cmbalink.com/) or on the day.

You should come prepared wearing close-toed shoes (preferably working or hiking boots), and dressed for all kinds of weather.

Maintenance Clinic (26 May 2013)

Maintenance clinics are available for members free of charge. There will be a registration fee of $40 that will be reimbursed to your credit card upon attendance at the clinic.

Registration is limited to 32 people.

At this clinic, you will learn how to:

clean, maintain and adjust your drive train
fix a flat
fix a broken chain

Cancellations are not accepted.

Please come prepared to get at least your hands dirty. We suggest you bring:

your front wheel
pictures of your bike (the brakes, fork & frame)
a shop apron or work clothes
surgical or close fitting garden gloves
your tools
- chain breaker
- tire levers
- patch kit
- pump
- multi-tool

Registration will close 3 days before the event.

Come help out at MEC Bike Fest!

We need help from Spin Sisters between 10-4.

(3 pairs of volunteers for 2 hours each works out perfectly!)

Help with the Spin Sisters Booth and Bike Maintenance Clinic (change a tire).

Enjoy the pump track!

Meet lots of other people who enjoy riding their bikes.

The event draws over 3000 people annually.

Promote biking for women!

Spin Sisters Trail Building Day and Welcome BBQ!! (01 Jun 2013)

Bring your muscle (that includes spouses!) and join us for our annual trail building event where we will be working on the West Bragg Creek trails! The trail builders are always astonished by the number of volunteers and the amount of trail Spin Sisters can build. Come join the fun! No trail building experience is necessary. You bring the muscle, and we supply the tools and know how.

Afterwards, Spin Sisters hosts a Welcome BBQ, bring your family (kids too!). We just ask that you register for this event so we know how much food to buy!

The day will go something like this..............

We will meet at the West Bragg Creek trail head (aka the Sandy McNabb x-country ski trail head) at 9am.

Wear closed toe shoes, bring water, snacks, bug spray and sun screen, and dress for the weather. We will be working rain or shine.

This year there will be no tools to carry up the trail (yay) so bring your bike and ride to the worksite, or if you feel comfortable you can walk too.

We will build trail until around 1pm (ish) then head back to the parking lot for for a delicious BBQ served up by our very own Spin Sister chefs.

If you can't make the full day, we still encourage you to come out, even if it's just for the BBQ and ride at the end. This is a great chance to give back to our trail systems and hang out with some cool people!

Learn to Race - Pre-Ride Iron Maiden Course (05 Jun 2013)

Learn to Race Pre-Ride Night!

Location: Canmore Nordic Centre (when you drive into the Nordic Centre, continue to the very west parking lot, closest to the biathlon range)

Time: 6-10pm (We need to be ready to ride by 7pm, so meet at 5:45pm in Calgary at the Stoney Trail lot to carpool or arrange your own carpools). Arrive back in Calgary around 10pm.

What to Bring: You and your bike gear!

What to Expect: We will aim to do 2 laps of the Iron Maiden course. On Lap 1 we will stop often to look at technical sections, find safe places to pass, good spots to eat/drink, etc. Lap 2 will be continuous.

THIS SESSION IS ONLY FOR THOSE REGISTERED IN THE LEARN TO RACE PROGRAM.

Volunteer for the Iron Maiden Race (08 Jun 2013)

We are gearing up once again for the fast and exciting Iron Maiden race, and we need lots of volunteers to make this event a success!

Volunteering gives racers a chance to give back to the cycling community, and as innocent bystanders, they can witness the mayhem firsthand. There will be great food and prizes drawn for volunteers as well so come on out!

Please sign up for a job by registering for this event and choosing a role for yourself. This will greatly help me to know which roles have been filled and where we still have need.

Note you do NOT have to be a Spin Sister to volunteer, so bring out those friends and family members! You can sign them up as guests.
