About Us
Formed in 2004, Spin Sisters Mountain Biking Club (SSMBC) is a progressive women’s only mountain biking club in the Calgary region that brings together riders of all ages and abilities to enjoy the sport.
Our mandate is to get more women into the sport of mountain biking where they can learn and improve skills in a non‐intimidating environment.
Our Vision
SSMBC inspires a world where no woman fears rocks or drops, by bringing women of all abilities together for super duper wicked riding in an environment of camaraderie and support whilst building leaders, and being a positive force in the community.
The 2012 Season
We're pretty excited to kick off the new season! Spin Sisters does a lot of fabulous things: for our members, for the community, and for the sport.
Here's what we've got planned for the upcoming year:
>>Rides
We schedule weekly rides for all skill levels from beginner to advanced riders. We organize ride leaders for beginner groups.

>>Clinics
We train our own instructors to run a skills clinic for members in May, along with maintenance clinics through Bow Cycle that cover beginner and advanced topics.

>>Racing
We provide funding for members who race under the Spin Sisters name in exchange for a volunteer commitment.
Advanced racing and the race re-imbursement program: Advanced Race Program

>>Community Involvement
2012 Alberta Summer Games
We are coordinating the Zone 3 Mountain Biking team for the 2012 Alberta Summer Games.
Bikes Without Borders
In 2011 we purchased 4 bike ambulances for Bikes Without Borders through direct donations from our members and sales of Bikes Without Borders hoodies and T-shirts. In 2012 we will be continuing this initiative.

Trail Building
We are proud to be associated with the Calgary Mountain Bike Alliance (CMBA), a local group working to promote sustainable trails in the Calgary area. Spin Sisters have put in hundreds of accumulated hours of loving attention into singletrack trails in Fish Creek Park, Bowmont Park and the Ridgeback and S.H.A.F.T. trails in K-Country.
